Amazing product

Being an avid reader of nostalgic visits to yesteryear computing, I have to say this book has been the most detailed but enjoyable visit to the 8bit BBC micros. I didn’t own one in the day but it definitely inspired me to go and buy one, just to try out the old games. Absolutely loved it and I believe you will too.

What a beautiful book and a trip down memory lane

As a Beeb and Archie enthusiast since the age of 6, this book is a MUST HAVE. While some of the stories I've heard before, there were SO many new stories, insights and interviews with people that have seemingly never talked about their experiences. This is an absolute treasure trove, and beautifully presented. Thank you for an amazing product!

Excellent dedicated effort to the BBC Micro

I really enjoyed reading through this book and especially now it's available as a PDF. It covers interviews with all the games companys and its interesting learning some of the insights into their challenges and their dive into the past. A brilliant and dedicated book.

A Superlative Volume

It is hard to understate the impact of the nascent home computer market in the UK in the late 70s and early 80s. Britain's ability to compete in today's technology-led world is due to the exposure that children (and adults) gained as the "revolution" started. Computers were expensive back then and so it was essential that children gained exposure through their schools, which almost universally meant the BBC Microcomputer.

As such a significant part of British computing history, it is warming to see such a well thought out and presented book. I have both versions of the physical book and would happily have purchased this in physical form too, had it been available.

I'm not sure why the writers, designers and publishers decided to embark upon this project - it must have been a mind-bendingly colossal endeavour - but I'm very glad they did. If they ever decided to give the same treatment of one of the other computers of the era, they'd surely have them lining up when it was released!
